Human Toolz SLD101B Review

Human Toolz SLD101B Review by Branwynmars "branwyn36" (Forth Worth, TX United States)

I have a Lapinator that I use at home (which I love) but it doesn't fit in my bag for travel. Since I'm about to be travelling a good bit, I wanted something that would fit in my bag with my laptop. This fits the bill perfectly! It's slim and small enough to fit in my bag, but just large enough for my 17 inch laptop. Very happy with my purchase.

Human Toolz SLD101B Review by Huggybear

Love this lap desk. Makes working my on iPad much more comfortable. Frees up both hands so I can type on it using both hands at a time.

Update - I saw an article this week (10/04/2010) from the AP stating that skin damage is possible if you do not use a lap desk or some sort of protection when using a laptop computer...

[...]

The Human Toolz Lap Desk is the perfect solution to solve this problem!

Human Toolz SLD101B Review by D. McIntire

I needed a laptop pad that wasn't stuffed like an overgrown pillow....this product fits the bill...slim and easy to travel with and keeps the heat off my lap without having to deal with a big bulky item.

Uniden PC68LTW Review

Uniden PC68LTW Review by J. Churchman (New Orleans, LA)

I have had this CB installed for 3 months now, and use it daily. I had mine peaked and tuned (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) so it is loud and clear out to 10 miles average easily. The Dynamic Squelch Control works great if the channel is clear, or if you lower the RF gain to cut noise. It only lets through what you can hear clearly anyway. If channel is busy, manual squelch works better. It's very versatile. Noise reduction is much better than some other CB's I've used. The perfect CB for my needs.

PROS: Dynamic Squelch Control is useful function most of the time;
Clear Audio from stock mic(seems to be better than most stock mics);
Noise reduction (NB/ANL) works great;
Weather channels (7), PA function, RF Gain, Mic gain all useful

CONS: Dim switch doesn't dim the knobs/switches lights, only the meter
and channel display - not a problem for me, but useful to know;
Doesn't have an ANT warning light for high SWR

I would certainly buy this CB again. I will again recommend a peak/tune because that really cleans up the audio and receive, adjusts squelch sensitivity, and mic signal for clean, clear modulation. It makes the CB perform to its maximum ability within legal limits.

Uniden PC68LTW Review by lumagetti

I havn't had a cb in years, but need one now. I did much research, and reviews, and I'm very happy with my choice. The only thing I didn't like was the auto squelch control, but manual control is easy anyway. The weather channels are important to me, the unit looks great, I might upgrade the mike at some point, but not nessesary. For the money I got a lot of cb for reasonable cost! Very happy!

The delivery was very promt, the unit showed up in perfect order.

Uniden PC68LTW Review by K. A. Young "youngka" (CO)

This unit looks and works great. Installation was easy and the performance has been great. Has all the adjustments that I was looking for plus the weather channels. I didn't really want the weather channels at the time of purchase, but I'm glad I have them now.

The cosmetics are great -- chrome dials, silver face, green back-lighting, analog signal meter.

The unit is not a compact unit, but I was able to fit it under the radio in my '96 Ford Ranger without too much trouble. The 9' microphone cord seemed really long to me when I saw that on the spec sheet, but it is actually about perfect.

There are a couple of downsides: The Dynamic Squelch Control is completely useless. As far as I can tell, it just automatically sets the squelch to a higher-than-appropriate level. With DSC on, you miss all low-powered transmissions and some high-powered ones. DSC works great if you're only interested in a ~300' radius. I never turn mine on.

The other downside is that it's nearly impossible to determine the knob positions by sight. That is, you can't easily look down and see that the volume is at 1/2 and squelch is at 1/8, e.g.

Neither of these downsides are that big of a deal, though.

BTW, I use the RF Gain control much more than squelch to fine tune my reception. Don't buy a CB radio without RF Gain.

This thing has great clarity, both transmitting and receiving. However, make sure not to skimp on your antenna.

Pelican Micro Case Dry Box Review by Martin Rizzi (Traverse City, MI)

I haven't used mine yet, but I bought it after a kayaking trip in TN. My friend insisted we take his and man was that smart. As we may not have been well prepared this was one piece of gear that never failed. Through several rough portages, numerous rapids and full submersion our phone and personal info stayed bone dry and undamaged. Wheather for your GPS, phone or just stuff you want secure, I wouldn't plan a trip without Pelican.

Pelican Micro Case Dry Box Review by E. S. Dummit (Chappaqua, NY United States)

Yes, you too can defy the laws of physics with this case!

But seriously, Pelikan makes excellent cases. I use them for my telescope equipment and other electronics.

The apple store has a similar item that actually allows you to plug headphones into the sealed case and listen with it shut.

GIVENCHY BLUE LABEL by Givenchy EDT SPRAY 1.7 OZ *TESTER for MEN Review by Katherine (PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, US)

My boyfriend is a fan of this cologne. It's not easy to come by at big department stores save for Sears. Now not only does he enjoy it but I do too!

GIVENCHY BLUE LABEL by Givenchy EDT SPRAY 1.7 OZ *TESTER for MEN Review by N. Denis "YesWeCan" (Minneapolis, MN)

I previously liked Armani and was looking for something along the lines of Aqua di Gio which I now refuse to wear because every male in the age group slightly below frat boy and slightly above mid-life crisis seems to be wearing it!!! I had to change my style up and this was it. Try it only if you are tired of smelling like everyone else. It is a nice 'date scent'...sweet, inviting, sophisticated, but humbly subtle. I'm hoping the Armani crowd is not reading this coz I do not want you messing up a good things for me...lol.

GIVENCHY BLUE LABEL by Givenchy EDT SPRAY 1.7 OZ *TESTER for MEN Review by M. Jensen "MJ" (Houston, TX USA)

I have been using this cologne for 4 years and along with Bvlgari Pour Homme it's one of my favorites. It's a very fresh scent for the summer. But, as with any cologne or perfume - it's a very individual thing.

Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder Review by K. Walther "Finally on time!" (Pennsylvania)

I am so impressed with this item. I keep it in my purse and no matter where I am in the office, I can hear the alarm that reminds me to take my medication. It has helped me tremendously. I am even using it to keep my self on schedule so that I get home at a certain time. It's made a great difference in my life.

Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder Review by Brent Yerian

I have owned one and used it 24 hours a day for over 3 1/2 years. I am in a wheelchair and need to routinely offload/shift my weight. The problem is, in the past I have always forgotten. This has allowed me to set any amount of continuous increments throughout the day (20 minutes) and then it shuts off automatically at 10:30 PM and doesn't start again until the next morning. I can also easily set it to simply vibrate during meetings, movies, etc.

It takes a little time to figure out how to program it to that type of detail; but it's worth it. You can remind yourself as many, or as little, times a day -- anytime of the day. It also can set timers simply based on countdown increments.

The buttons may be a little bigger than some of today's technology, that actually works better for me. However, I don't think it's a major detriment to anyone that needs this type of device.

Lastly, as I said -- it is durable. Many times through the years I've dropped it with no problems whatsoever. The only reason I am back here purchasing another at this time is that no matter how durable it may be it could not withstand an electric wheelchair running directly over it :-)

Highly recommended.

Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder Review by Jeffrey J. Wong

Great idea and execution; but the vibrating function broke after 13 months (used it for pacing office work). At least the alarm still works - I time my treadmill workout with it.

Invisible Clock II - Vibrating Reminder::Description

The Invisible Clock is an assistive device that works great for timed voiding programs, medication reminders, meeting timer, exercising and literally hundreds of uses where a flexible timer is needed. The unit has 12 daily alarms that can be set for specific times. This provides you with flexibility in alerting you or your child to perform a specific task when a specific interval is not practical. Or, you may choose a specific interval where it is more convenient. In fact, you can choose both. The 12 Alarms are Automatically Organized by the time of day, so it's easy to keep track of your programmed alarms and easy to check, erase, or set additional alarms. The Invisible Clock uses a vibration system (similar to that of the common pager) that is private yet easy to feel. If you choose, you may adjust the vibration or beep to low for a gentle and quiet reminder, or to medium or high for a stronger alert. The single AAA battery is easy and inexpensive to change. Affordably priced, easy to program and use.

Iogear GWU523 Review by Ibok (Circle, MT)

I originally bought this to connect an older 'XP' computer to my network, the manual says it's designed for Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP, but I recently installed in on a VISTA computer, didn't look like any of the instruction examples when installing but it ultimately worked as good or better than the old 'XP'. Seems to have good range and so far no complaints.-)

Iogear GWU523 Review by M. Le "Chihuahua Lover" (Centreville, VA)

I bought this adapter to connect my desktop machine to my home's wireless network, and I'm happy to say that it's up and running smoothly without a hitch. Unlike some of the reviews, my computer didn't crash, and I didn't have to be a techie in order to get the software to install properly on my machine. The installation instructions are lacking, but if you have the slightest bit of software installation knowledge, you should be able to figure it out.

The signal strength is great (95% right now), although my wireless router is just in the next room. For the price, I'd highly recommend this to anybody needing a cheap, no frills wireless USB adapter.

Iogear GWU523 Review by Adamchik (California, USA)

I bought this adapter because I am using Linux [...] on my computer, and this Iogear adapter is Linux-compatible. The performance is excellent, and it is a very good value. Highly recommended!

OPUS 421HS-4 Review by K. Pompe (Audubon, PA United States)

We had one of these several years ago and loved it. This one is just as nice. We do not use the stand - we hang it from the included chain. It is nice that it comes with both options. Looks very nice hanging in the garden and with the hot weather, the birds are loving it! We got the product on time and as advertised.

Very satisfied.

OPUS 421HS-4 Review by Rustyduck (Philadelphia)

I don't like the traditional pedistal birdbaths, so bought this birdbath about 20 years ago. It looked great in my garden and I loved it. But I lost it and my garden in the divorce. So when I finally got my own garden again after 15 years, I went looking for something similar, never expecting to find the same birdbath again. But I found what looked like it here on Amazon. Tho after reading some of the negative comments, I was not quite sure it was the same item that I had loved before. I ordered it anyway since it sure looked like it. I just put it in my garden today and I love it. I don't understand the negative comments about the stand. Is it easy to put together? No. Is it hard to assemble? No. The bath was secure in the ground within 5 minutes and it took less than 10 minutes for a sparrow to check it out. I believe he gives it 5 stars as well. I am glad I found my old friend!

OPUS 421HS-4 Review by Ernest J. P. Muhly

This purchase of the Sunswept 421HS-4 Terra Cotta Royal Blue Hanging-Standing Birdbath, was a replacement for an identical Birdbath purchased over twenty [20]years ago that worked fine until a neighbors' tree came crashing down and shattered it. Highly recommended product. The birds [and squirrels] enjoy it; it cleans up easily; and, weathers quite well.
